As parents, teachers, and tutors know, it can sometimes be challenging to get your student excited and engaged in reading.  In particular, reading for content in history or science can be perceived as boring and uninteresting.

The Teaching Tips Machine blog has a solution.  The blog has a post describing A Reading Strategy That Makes Students Want to Read.  Using Anticipation/Reaction guides can peak the interest of the student BEFORE they begin the reading.  These guides get the student focused and engaged so the reading has a purpose.  Check out the post for more details on this successful reading strategy!
