Tutoring Your Child to Read for Fun
By Patty Zimmerman
The Love of Reading
Does your child read for pleasure?
Having 2 opposite boys I am convinced that reading for pleasure is extensive in the success of our children. My oldest son (current Princeton student) read 60 books this summer and aces school which my other son only reads when he is made to and struggles in school.
Benefits of Reading for Pleasure:
-It is relaxing and fun
-Stimulates Imagination
-Improves Vocabulary and comprehension.
-Consistently improves test scores
-Improves writing and spelling
-Expands the mind by teaching different walks of life, different personality types and different cultures.
Practice is the only way to become an excellent reader. Encourage your children to read for pleasure and it will ensure their success in school and in life.
