How to Beat Out All Other Tutoring Services

I did a google search for “online tutoring”. When I looked at the natural listings, I noticed they were all paid services. Upon further review, I noticed none of these companies offered follow up consultations to the parents on a consistent basis.
Most just want money from parents so they can pay tutors to teach inside their online classroom. They act as a middle man.
I used to be one of these companies, but then I figured out that by taking the time to care, parents and students would never want to do without us. By allowing tutors to be the main points of contact, they maintained relationships that we could never maintain as a company. We just didn’t have time, because we were so busy chasing the money. That wasn’t why I got started with online tutoring and that’s why things had to change.
Soon after this discovery, I stopped offering the online tutoring service and started allowing tutors to use our software so they could offer the service themselves. What I found is that parents loved their 1 on 1 tutors, consultations and online tutoring experience so much, that they just wouldn’t quit. On top of this, they instinctively tell other parents about this special type of online tutoring service.
When a parents sees their child excited to learn inside a real online classroom, they are over joyed. This complete satisfaction can be attributed to working and communicating with the same caring tutor every time. This is what makes an individual’s online tutoring service a cut above the rest.
If you click here and check out the paid online tutoring services, you’ll see that most are in it for the money. There might be a few people in the organization that care, but the tutors who work for these companies don’t ever get a chance to care and consult with the parents. At best, the parent might get one phone call per month and that’s not even from the tutor. The student barely ever gets the same tutor twice.
For any individual interested in starting their own online tutoring business, now is the time to get started. You can easily gather clients who will gladly pay you every month for years to come.

Your goals and tips for professional tutors are the same as those we (Tutor/Mentor Connection) offer for volunteers. The challenges of on-line, and site-based, tutoring are a) providing access b) finding enough tutors who will commit to the on-going tutoring/ mentoring; c) motivating kids to participate
The challenges grow depending on the economic situation of the kids being tutored. In more affluent areas computers are in almost every home, along with the Internet, and parents can afford hefty fees. In high poverty areas, computers and internet access may not be in every home; parents may not be around to encourage or model learning; kids are less motivated.
Thus, I feel an opportunity for on-line tutoring, and learning, it to educate adults of this learning opportunity gap, as part of a long term goal of shrinking it.
Good luck in your business.
