Your goals and tips for professional tutors are the same as those we (Tutor/Mentor Connection) offer for volunteers. The challenges of on-line, and site-based, tutoring are a) providing access b) finding enough tutors who will commit to the on-going tutoring/ mentoring; c) motivating kids to participate

The challenges grow depending on the economic situation of the kids being tutored. In more affluent areas computers are in almost every home, along with the Internet, and parents can afford hefty fees. In high poverty areas, computers and internet access may not be in every home; parents may not be around to encourage or model learning; kids are less motivated.

Thus, I feel an opportunity for on-line tutoring, and learning, it to educate adults of this learning opportunity gap, as part of a long term goal of shrinking it.

Good luck in your business.
