Teach Your Kids Math while They Clean
By Meaghan Montrose
Do you wish your kids were into using math? Would you love to see your house free from all that junk that accumulates over the years? Do you want to give your kids a learning experience that they will enjoy? HomeSchoolBytes.com has found a way to do just that!
In a post on the HomeSchoolBytes.com blog, the author describes the plan to get the kids involved and the house decluttered. They decided to have a garage sale! The kids are in charge of the sale and as a result they get to keep and split all of the money earned at the sale. This accomplishes many goals:
1. Your kids are required to use math by collecting money and making change, keeping a running total, and dividing the profits.
2. Your kids are motivated and interested in using math because ultimately they get to keep the money.
3. Your house is free from the extra toys, books, clothes, knick knacks, etc… that have been taking up space.

This is an awesome idea. The best part about is the kids do some of the work for you! If they can learn math while doing that, you’re doing something right
