About Me

I am a proud alumna of Virginia State University where I earned my bachelor's degree in education and of The College of William and Mary where I earned my master's degree in education. After having taught grades 4 - 8 for many years, I spent ten years as the English Department chairperson for a middle school. I have tutored students part time for the last few years in various subjects from beginning reading to SAT prep (language arts portion). My teaching career included work as a gifted resource teacher as well. In recognition for my work as a teacher, I won awards for excellence in teaching and continue to help new teachers with classroom management and instructional delivery.
